POSITION: TITLE I - FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
10 MONTH GRADE 52 SCALE
LOCATION: TITLE I ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF FEDERAL PROGRAMS
OVERVIEW OF POSITION: The Title I Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for assisting schools in implementing the Parent Involvement Plan and for cultivating positive relationships between the home and school.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant should possess the following skills, knowledge and abilities, in order to meet the minimum requirements for this position:
- Certified / Licensed status as a paraprofessional/instructional assistant
- Successful completion of a background check
- Knowledge of Title I
- Knowledge of working with adults
- Regular on time attendance
- Good communication skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Title I schools with the implementation of parent involvement plans
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents
- Attend School Improvement Team and/or Parent Action Team meetings
- Maintain monthly documentation for PIC activities
- Assist schools with Title I documentation for parent involvement activities
- Meet monthly with Family Engagement Coordinators and Supervisors
- Serve as a resource to principals for parent involvement activities
- Assist schools with getting parent input for Home School Compacts, ACPS Parent Involvement Plan, Title I surveys
- Assist with Title I Spring Parent Meeting
- Follow financial procedures
- Follow budget guidelines
- Computer skills (word processing)
- Operate equipment (copier, laminator, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Federal Programs

- Determine and assign tasks to volunteers
- Maintain documentation
- Maintain confidentiality
- Work collaboratively with parents and school staff
