SALARY: UNIT IV SALARY SCHEDULE 12 MONTHS GRADE 6 $41,586 - $59,287

QUALIFICATIONS:
? High school graduate
? Two years of business school and/or secretarial college preferred. Successful business
experience will be considered in lieu of formal schooling
? Must have a working knowledge of bookkeeping methods used in keeping fiscal accounts and
records, and of office terminology, procedures routine, and equipment
? Must comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions and maintain records and files
? Must have a working knowledge of internal auditor procedures to be able to verify information
? Computer literate with proficiency in using Spreadsheets. Preferred experience and
comfortability with Google Sheets, Google Drive and related programs.
? Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems, reporting
requirements, and office procedures
? Must take and pass clerical test administered by the Allegany County Board of Education (or
have taken and passed the test within the last 2 years)
? Must possess knowledge of business English, spelling and business mathematics
? A minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute preferred
? Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
and shifting deadlines
? Ability to work effectively during high-volume periods, maintaining accuracy and
professionalism under pressure
? Excellent communication, organization and human relation skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Works in close collaboration with CTE/World Language supervisor, Work-force Development
Coordinator, Career Coach Coordinator and P-Tech Coordinator
? Opens and answers routine mail without need of supervision - processes other mail
? Represents school system in public contacts
? Accurately maintains complex financial records and documents meeting all deadlines and
requirements for Maryland State Department of Education
? Accurately processes all bills, purchase orders, timesheets, accounting memos, and grant
documents associated with multiple funding sources
? Knowledge of grant reporting to MSDE, specifically with the Perkins Grant and funding
? Assists in the management of other grants (i.e., ARC) that are housed in the CTE office
? Communicates with Program Advisory Committees across all CTE skill areas
? Assists with the coordination of Local Advisory Council meetings and Professional Development
activities, as well as scheduling meetings and processing meeting notes
? Maintains accurate budget records for numerous district programs within CTE (including
SkillsUSA), Career Counseling, FACS, Tech Ed, and World Languages.
? Adapts to evolving program needs, deadlines, and regulatory requirements, particularly during
peak reporting and budgeting cycles
? Supports time-sensitive projects that require rapid turnaround, attention to detail, and
coordination across multiple stakeholders.
? Arranges travel and logistics for supervisor and staff as needed
? Receives, prioritizes, and responds to telephone messages and inquiries
? Performs word processing and answers correspondence as assigned by supervisor
? Handles routine matters that arise during the absence of supervisor
? Works independently and collaboratively to support office operations
? Maintains close liaison with Finance Office and Human Resources office to ensure accuracy and
compliance
? Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
