POSITION:                        ACPS WEBMASTER

LOCATION:                       CENTRAL OFFICE

REPORTS TO:                    DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

SALARY:                            UNIT II SALARY SCALE

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of all ACPS websites and online platforms. The role supports the digital presence of ACPS by ensuring that the websites are functional, user-friendly, accessible, secure, and aligned with the institution's branding and communication goals. The Webmaster works closely with academic departments, administrative offices, and student services to keep content current and relevant, while also providing content development. The Webmaster will take guidance and direction from both the Director of IT and the Superintendent of Schools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or institution-specific systems)
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
• Familiarity with website accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA compliance)
• Experience with graphic design and web page layout
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in academic settings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, IT, Digital Communications, or related field
• Experience working in an educational or nonprofit environment
• Familiarity with FERPA, COPPA, or similar regulations impacting education
• Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for Education
• Experience with designing HTML, CSS, SASS, ASP, ASPX, MVC, RAZOR, XML, and XLST pages; 
• Two years or more experience in information systems technology

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain and update institutional websites and subdomains (e.g., departmental or faculty sites)
• Ensure site functionality across browsers, devices, and platforms
• Regularly test for broken links, outdated content, and accessibility issues
• Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to post announcements, academic calendars, and news
• Upload and maintain event pages, staff directories, and resource documents (PDFs, etc.)
• Ensure websites adhere to accessibility standards
• Maintain consistent branding and visual identity across all web pages
• Work with IT or vendors to ensure site performance and uptime
• Implement security protocols to protect user data
• Coordinate with departments to integrate web content with learning management systems (LMS) and student portals

• Ensure site functionality across browsers, devices, and platforms
• Assist in emergency communications via website alerts and banners
• Develop relevant and timely content
